Kiddos, your instructions are as follows:
1. Read:
"Social Darwinism Isn't Dead" (We read yesterday together)
THEN: Another perspective on the "Just World Theory" (hard copies on front table if you prefer)
Compare the ideas of a class system that happens naturally (attributed to various factors), like in the US to what Plato is describing in The Republic.. Use Bloom too (section of Howard Bloom's Lucifer Principle) for more perspective on how humans naturally divide themselves within a group or society. Also, what are the effects of these divisions?
Answer (on a sheet of paper you will turn in for a daily grade): Which source to you agree with most? Why? Do you see aspects of these arguments within our society (local, state, and national)? Where? Be specific!!!! What are your understandings on Human Nature and how it affects societal structures?
