Questions for the project
Questions for the project
- What would you do to make this society fair to both present and future generations?
- What would you do to make this society fair regardless of financial situation? (Would you make an attempt to equalize earning, or not? What about welfare?)
- What would you do to make this society fair regardless of ability (intelligence, physical fitness or health, mental health, etc.)? How would your theory of justice take care of ALL citizens within your society?
- What would you do to make this society fair in terms of morality/social behavior? (Think about religious/political/personal/other ideological freedoms—where does the freedom of one person begin to impinge on the freedoms of the people around him or her? Think about particular hot-button issues of personal freedom.)
- Would you think about making this society fair to the world around it (environment or other societies/nations), and not just to its members?
- . What is your definition of justice?
- Who would make the decisions, and why? Tell us about what form of government you have (power structure), who the rulers are and how are they chosen?
- How would you raise money to do things? Taxes? Would the taxes be flat, or would you require that people/institutions with different amounts of wealth pay different rates? Would you raise money through some other method? Keep in mind that it takes money to provide services, enforce regulations well, etc.
- What services would you provide to your citizens, and which would you leave to private industry (if you decide that you want private industry in your society)?
- Would there be a class system in your government? Why or why not?
